Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association Year End Award:


This award is sponsored by the CWHBA, Ontario Chapter and is given to the owner of the overall top placing OHTA, Dressage(Gold),OHJA registered Canadian Warmblood for the year.

To be eligible for the award the horse must be a registered Canadian Warmblood.

Nominations need to be received by September 30th of the current competition year.

The Year End Awards for 2009 are as follows:

Hunter: Again the Top Point Hunter was Viola, owned by Rhonda Thuna and ridden by Ashley Shannon, Jeffery Rundle, Erynn Ballard and Emma Wieland.Viola, registered as Viola W-R is a black mare bred by W-Ranch, Noble, Ontario and is by the Swiss Warmblood stallion Volvo Vom Eigen out of the Swiss Warmblood mare Kalinka. Viola was competing in the Pre Green Working Hunter Division and Adult Amateur Division 18-35 in 2009.Viola competed very successfully at the 2009 RAWF in Adult Amateur Divison 18-35 placing 1st in the Hunter Under Saddle and 1st and 3rd in the Hunter Over Fences.

Jumper: The Top Point Jumper was Boomer, owned and ridden by Victoria Seale.

Registered as After Shockt, Boomer is a bay mare bred by Richard and Jodie Hoerdt and is by the Dutch Warmblood stallion, Eastern Ruler out of the mare, After Math. Boomer was competing the Junior Amateur Jumper Division in 2009.

Dressage: The Top Point Dressage Horse was Limestone Springtime, ridden by Ashley Wright and owned by Grandview Equestrian and K&F Groenewegen. Limestone Springtime is a bay mare bred by Kathie and Francis Groenewegen and is by the Dutch Warmblood stallion Goodtimes out of the mare Limestone Stable Moonstruck. Limestone Springtime showed in the FEI - Prix St. Georges and Intermediate Divisions in 2009. It is hoped in 2010 she will showing Grand Prix.

Eventing: Another repeat winner was the Top Point Event Horse, Melanie, owned by Penny Beer and ridden by Lindsay Beer. A black mare registered under the name Melanie II, she is by the Hanoverian stallion Vaultair out of the Oldenburg mare Billy Jean. Melanie competed at Training Level in 2009
