Hosted by the Nova Scotia Chapterin 2011 - details posted. Bidding is done by phone and current bids are placed on the BID BOARD.
The stallions are divided into 4 groups in random order. One group will be bid on each hour starting at 1:00 p.m. Stallions with a valid bid at the close of their allocated time period will be considered SOLD and no new bids will be accepted, except as noted below and between parties which were actively bidding on that stallion service during the last 5 minutes.
At the end of each hour, those stallions 'not sold' during their time slot will be marked as such and will remain open for bidding until after the 4th group is closed at which time the auction team will continue to accept bids on those stallions listed as 'not sold' during their initial allocated time until final closing at 6:00 p.m.
Bids will be accepted on Second Round Stallions after their bidding hour - their 2nd round status will be noted on the bid board as 'Accepting Bids'. The Second round bidding will run from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at which time any further bids will be placed in the Final Round of bidding to close - March 27, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. CST
Where one farm has donated a choice of stallions, only one (1) breeding is being sold. Bidders do not need to specify the stallion at the time of bidding. The successful bidder will decide on the stallion of choice when they are signing the stallion owner's contract. These farms have donated a choice this year: Dreamscape Farm & Rainbow Equus Meadows
Final round stallions will accept bids the week following the close of the live acution
- their Final round status will be noted on the bid board as not sold.
Any bids placed in the last 5 minutes of the hour will be given two options:
1. to place that bid as a final bid, or
2. to remain as an active bidder.
Active bidders will be contacted and bidding will continue past the hour until the last bidder drops out. It is YOUR responsibility to check the Bid Board or phone to find the status of your bid.
The telephones will be manned for a minimum 30 minutes after the close of the last group of stallions to resolve ties
and answer questions regarding final bids.
The National Stallion Service Auction Manager's decision is final.
