CWHBA Ontario Chapter-2009 in Review

Once again in 2009, the Canadian Warmblood was in the forefront. It appears that "girls" dominated as all the recipients of the CWHBA awards were mares.

The Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association, Ontario Chapter is very excited to sponsor, promote and participate in the CYEH, Canadian Young Event Horse series which highlights young talented Canadian bred horses, who have a future in Eventing.

In the Four Year Old division in second place was Heron Hills Ariel, a Canadian Warmblood by Socrates out of Escade II, owned by and bred by Diane Lawrence and ridden by Selena O'Hanlon. Once again Diane Lawrence and Selena O'Hanlon provided the winning combination for the top CWHBA 4 year old award as well as the top CWHBA in the CYEH series.

Quizz D'Orange has subsequently been sold south of the border.

At this year's 8th Annual Fieldstone Farm Breeder's Show in Orangeville, ON hosted by Chris and Shannon Smith, we saw one of the largest turnouts for warmblood sport horses and sport ponies vying for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Star Search Pony Qualifier! Winner of the day for High Point CWHBA went to Ruth Armstrong of Armstrong Farms. Ruth showed her broodmares and weanlings to great success!
